2016 Marquis 660 SY Boat Review

Marquis Yachts first hit the market in 2004 and has continued to refine their European influenced, American-built line of luxury yachts since then. The 660 is a semi-custom built yacht, giving potential owners plenty of leeway in selecting layouts, options and finishes.

The 660 is designed to entertain. The main deck is accessed from the cockpit and through the sliding glass door you enter into the salon to the forward helm. There is plenty of seating - all upholstered in luxurious fabric. Stainless accents are set off by walnut and zebrano wood trim, while oyster pine floor make a real statement for the care taken with the interior decor. Ample dimmable lighting brings the space to life as the sun sets. No expense has been spared with the Sony entertainment system with a 42-inch LED TV.

The high-end designer décor continues into the galley with solid surface countertops, walnut accents and top-notch appliances including a microwave, convection oven/broiler. There is plenty of storage including a dedicated liquor and glassware cabinet. One drawback is that some cabinets and drawers are located in the companion stairway leading down from the galley.

The 660 has a forward VIP stateroom and starboard and port guest staterooms. The VIP stateroom is luxurious and has its own private head. The guest staterooms have twin berths and bunks to port. They share the guest head with a separate shower stall.

Befitting a 68-foot yacht, the 660 has a truly well-appointed full beam master stateroom. Taking advantage of the 17-foot beam allowed Marquis to include a sizable walk in closet and beautifully appointed head aft of the stateroom. Walnut cabinetry dominates here with built in seating, a computer workstation, entertainment centre multiple drawers and lockers.

The flybridge is separated into a forward area with seating facing the portside Euro helm. Aft, the seating focuses around the large cockpit table.

The Marquis Sport Yacht is designed and built for the experienced boater who recognizes excellence, quality and craftsmanship and will accept nothing less.
